Dr. Mowei Zhou presents “Understanding the Heterogeneity of Plant Proteoforms by Top-Down Mass Spectrometry”

Plants have large genomes and a repertoire of diverse proteoforms, including many with unknown functions. Mowewi will discuss a top-down proteomics (TDP) study of soybean nodules that revealed interesting patterns of truncated proteoforms and unexpected modifications. In addition, he
will discuss a side story behind a recently published de novo sequencing study of purified Forsythia plant cell wall proteins and highlight the potential of TDP for proteoform discovery.
