Proteoform Thursday: Anthony Cesnik presents “Driving proteoform systems biology with tools to highlight functional differences within proteoform families”

Feb 16, 2023 11:00 AM in Eastern Time (US and Canada)

Protein-coding genes are expressed as a dynamic ensemble of unique molecular forms known as proteoforms, and differences between their amino acid sequences or post-translational modifications can imbue important functional differences. Dr. Cesnik will explore how these variations may impact the localization of proteins and discuss strategies to interrogate functional differences between proteoforms. This will include presenting a top-down proteoform data analysis strategy integrating RNA-seq data to find sequence variations, including those stemming from small genetic variations and alternative splicing.
